Senior Designer, Interiors - Retail at MillerKnoll. Responsible for designing branded environments that deliver world class experiences across MillerKnoll brands including Design Within Reach and Herman Miller stores. Lead multiple projects from concept to completion, collaborating with Creative Directors, Senior Managers, Visual Merchandising, Construction Project Managers, and external consultants to realize design strategy and brand narratives. Responsibilities

Lead concept development and design execution for MillerKnoll retail environments (DWR, Herman Miller stores, shop-in-shops, pop-ups, and brand exhibitions). Develop spatial narratives and branded experiences aligned with retail strategy, merchandising goals, and brand identity. Produce design documentation from concept through schematic design (sketches, plans, renderings, FF&E specifications). Collaborate with Visual Merchandising, Marketing, and Product teams to ensure cohesive storytelling and alignment with campaigns. Partner with Real Estate and Construction teams to adapt designs for sites, manage buildouts, and ensure code compliance without compromising design intent. Oversee development and prototyping of retail elements (fixtures, lighting, finishes, millwork, signage systems). Coordinate with external consultants, architects, and vendors to maintain design quality and meet milestones. Manage multiple retail design projects, balancing timelines, budgets, and execution quality. Maintain and evolve design standards and brand guidelines across the MillerKnoll retail portfolio. Conduct customer journey mapping and integrate insights, retail trends, and sustainability practices to enhance in-store experience. Mentor junior designers and contribute to a culture of innovation and design excellence. Utilize tools such as SketchUp, Rhino, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Enscape to develop and communicate design intent. Prepare technical documentation and coordinate with Project Management on materials, schedules, budgets, and implementation. Represent the design team in internal and external meetings, aligning objectives across disciplines. Support research into new materials, technologies, and retail innovations to stay forward-thinking and competitive. Other duties as assigned to meet business objectives. Qualifications

Education/Experience and Skills: Bachelor's degree in architecture, interior design, art or related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 7+ years of experience in production and/or installations management with increasing responsibilities. Background in retail interiors: design, fabrication, execution management. Proven ability with design and development of fixtures, millwork, and interior details. Experience managing multiple brands through the production process. Deep knowledge of retail environments, store planning, and branded spatial experiences across scales and locations. Creative aesthetic aligned with MillerKnoll brands; experience with sustainable practices, universal design, and building codes. Product-forward spatial concepts, fixture strategies, and merchandising solutions to enhance engagement and sales. Ability to conceptualize and document MillerKnoll product solutions through 2D/3D visualization. Strong understanding of architectural drawings; proficiency in CAD, SketchUp, Enscape, AutoCAD, BIM, Adobe Creative Suite, and related tools. Proven ability to manage multiple projects from concept to completion, on time and within budget. Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and visual communication skills; comfortable with client-facing engagements and stakeholder conversations. Collaborative, self-directed, and proactive with the ability to work across distributed teams; travel up to 30% domestically and internationally for site visits and meetings. Benefits & EEO

Compensation range: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00. Salary considerations depend on qualifications and experience; geographic premium, annual discretionary incentive, and equity awards may apply.
