Information Security Systems Engineer (ISSE)

to provide cybersecurity, systems engineering, system administration, and software development support to Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) clients. Key Responsibilities Serve as the technical cybersecurity advisor across software systems. Lead the design and implementation of cybersecurity controls within application modernization projects. Ensure and maintain

Authority to Operate (ATO)

compliance throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC). Integrate cybersecurity/IA disciplines into system design, development, integration, and implementation. Conduct

risk assessments

and recommend secure system/application designs. Define

System Security Requirements

and apply

security risk assessment methodologies . Ensure information protection requirements are integrated into IT acquisitions and new system releases. Develop, submit, and maintain

Certification & Accreditation (C&A) packages . Provide documentation/evidence supporting certification levels and compliance. Test and validate security controls for effectiveness at each stage of development. Collaborate with project managers to align cybersecurity with program goals. Clearance & Eligibility Top Secret/SCI security clearance

or current

Top Secret SSBI with TS/SCI eligibility

(CI polygraph may be required) Experience, Education & Certification Requirements Bachelor’s Degree

in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (Master’s preferred) 8+ years

of relevant professional experience Strong background in

cybersecurity, systems engineering, and system administration Certifications: CompTIA Security+ (required) Microsoft Certifications CISSP or CASP+ Core Skills & Tools Cybersecurity / Information Assurance / System Administration Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) Trellix Endpoint Security (ENS) Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) XCCDF Analysis Docker Containers Software Engineering & Architecture Strong analytical, leadership, problem-solving, research, and communication skills Applicable References & Standards Candidates must be familiar with and adhere to DoD and USMC cybersecurity policies, including but not limited to: DoDI 8500.01 – Cybersecurity CJCSI 6510.01F – Information Assurance / CND Support CJCSM 6510.018 – Cyber Incident Handling DoD 8570.01-M – IA Workforce Improvement Program SECNAVINST 5510.308 – Navy Personnel Security Program ECSM 018, ECSM 010, MCO 5239.28 Work Environment & Expectations Work within a
