Fund / Private Equity Accountant
Location:
Washington, DC (4/1 Hybrid with added flexibility) Must be local, not considering international candidates at this time Compensation : $100-150k total compensation (base + bonus) Role Overview We are partnering on a high-impact accounting role in the private equity space. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing team, report directly to finance leadership, and gain broad exposure across fund operations, deal activities, compliance, and investor relations functions. Key Responsibilities Lead fund accounting operations, including oversight of fund administrator relationships Manage capital calls, distributions, and quarterly/annual fund financial reporting Perform valuations, support deal closings, and assist in realizations Ensure compliance with debt covenants, investor agreements, and regulatory requirements Drive audit and tax processes, coordinating with external service providers Prepare and review financial statements, capital account statements, and budgets/forecasts Serve as a key resource for investor requests, due diligence, and fundraising support Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned Experience & Qualifications 2–5 years of progressive experience in fund accounting, private equity, venture capital, or alternative asset accounting Solid understanding of capital call / distribution mechanics, limited partner accounting, and valuation processes Experience with audits, tax coordination, financial modeling, and forecasting Strong technical skills (Excel, accounting systems, fund admin software) Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with investors, auditors, and senior leadership Detail-oriented, resourceful, and comfortable being both strategic and hands-on Why This Role?
