Are you passionate about employee well-being and skilled in managing comprehensive benefits programs? We’re looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to lead the administration of our U.S.-based Health and Welfare plans. In this role, you’ll ensure compliance, streamline processes, support employee education, and collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver an exceptional benefits experience. Responsibilities
Serve as the lead Benefits Specialist responsible for administering a broad range of U.S.-based Health and Welfare benefit plans (medical, dental, vision, life insurance basic and voluntary, spending accounts such as HSA/FSAs, and other voluntary programs). Support absence management programs (leaves of absence, PTO, short/long-term disability) and related mandated programs. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations; monitor regulatory changes, obtain legal opinions, prepare and submit government filings, coordinate plan amendments, and distribute required notices. Ensure accurate processing of payroll deductions and invoice processing; reconcile benefit enrollment data and vendor invoices to identify discrepancies. Lead or support design, development, implementation, and administration of assigned benefit programs and processes. Address data integrity issues through regular auditing of vendor reports, benefit data, contributions, deductions, metrics, and reports. Provide guidance on eligibility, plan provisions, regulatory compliance, and other benefit-related matters to employees, managers, HR partners, and stakeholders. Respond promptly to benefits inquiries and escalate complex issues as needed. Monitor weekly benefit file feeds and coordinate with HRIS/HRIT teams and carriers to resolve file issues. Conduct benefits orientation sessions for newly eligible employees and provide related presentations and materials. Establish and maintain partnerships with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and efficient administration. Support the annual Open Enrollment period, including project coordination, communications development, system setup validation, testing, and employee assistance during elections. Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to optimize benefits offerings and enhance the employee experience. Stay informed of emerging trends and provide analysis and recommendations; support COBRA administration; assist with charitable gifts and employee anniversary programs. Enter benefit information into HRIS per established procedures and assist in maintaining benefits plan documents and communications; prepare ad hoc reports as needed. Lead or assist with other duties and special projects as required. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance or related field, and/or equivalent experience. Knowledge of employee benefits laws and regulations including COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, and other federal/state regulations. End-to-end open enrollment process knowledge, vendor management, and benefits compliance. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and HR systems (e.g., Oracle, PeopleSoft, Workday, BusinessSolver). Strong benefits communication and employee education skills, including presentations and written materials. Ability to streamline and automate processes and improve efficiencies with minimal supervision; clear written and verbal communication; ability to handle sensitive matters. Excellent analytical and customer service skills; proven ability to manage complex benefits programs (e.g., self-insured plans, open enrollment, and plan design changes). Minimum of 4–5 years of benefits administration experience (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, leaves, retirement plans, FSA/HSA, and related programs). About Verisk
