Development and Communications Coordinator

to play a central role in advancing our fundraising, donor stewardship, event planning, and media engagement strategies. This is an exciting opportunity for a resourceful, creative, and strategic professional to help shape and grow MassCOSH’s visibility, sustainability, and impact. Position Summary

The Development and Communications Coordinator will oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of MassCOSH’s development and communications initiatives. This includes leading fundraising campaigns, managing donor relations, coordinating large-scale events, and implementing communications strategies that elevate MassCOSH’s work in the media and with the broader public. The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills, creativity, and the ability to balance detailed planning with big-picture strategy. They will be responsible not only for creating opportunities to celebrate MassCOSH’s accomplishments but also for addressing challenges such as budget management, donor engagement, and media visibility with proactive solutions. Key Responsibilities

Lead annual fundraising campaigns, including fall membership drive, end-of-year appeals, and targeted donor outreach (major donors, small gift donors, and new prospects). Manage and grow MassCOSH’s monthly donor program, ensuring consistent engagement and stewardship. Oversee donor database (Donor Perfect/ union membership): enter and track gifts, generate reports, create acknowledgments and tax receipts, and analyze giving trends. Develop creative stewardship strategies to engage donors, unions, foundations, and community partners through personalized touches, impact reports, and events. Event Planning & Management

Plan, manage, and execute all major MassCOSH events, including: Celebrating the Movement

annual awards ceremony and fundraising reception. Youth Summit, Resource Fairs, and Pathways for Good Jobs

programming. Handle event logistics such as budget management, venue selection, vendor partnerships, and volunteer coordination. Design and implement event marketing strategies, ticket sales, sponsorship outreach, and program book creation. Collect and analyze post-event feedback to strengthen future plans. Communications & Public Relations

Develop and implement MassCOSH’s communications strategy to raise organizational visibility and strengthen public engagement. Manage social media channels, website updates, and e-newsletters with consistent, compelling content. Write and distribute press releases, media advisories, and public service announcements (PSAs). Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets; cultivate coverage of MassCOSH events, campaigns, and advocacy. Ensure brand consistency and alignment across all communication platforms. Strategic Planning & Organizational Growth

Identify and address shortcomings in budgeting, fundraising pipelines, and donor cultivation with proactive solutions. Support development of grant proposals in collaboration with the leadership team. Collaborate across departments to integrate communications, fundraising, and program goals. Provide leadership in advancing health equity, labor rights, and worker justice narratives. Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience: Minimum 2–3 years in development, communications, event planning, or related nonprofit work. Proven ability to manage fundraising campaigns and donor relations. Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills for multiple platforms. Experience cultivating media coverage and managing press outreach. Demonstrated success in planning and executing events of various sizes. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and networking skills. Proficiency with CRM databases (DonorPerfect or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong attention to detail. Commitment to MassCOSH’s mission and values, with an understanding of workers’ rights, labor, and social justice. Developed coordinated blast mail, direct mail, and direct communication for retention and engagement of stakeholders Create a small membership and fundraising strategy with achievable goals to support operations for all MassCOSH programs. Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience in grassroots organizing, labor rights, or immigrant justice movements. Graphic design and digital communications skills (Canva, Adobe, or similar). Bilingual (Spanish or another language commonly spoken in our communities). Strong community or union connections in Massachusetts. Classification:

Executive Director Salary:

$60,287 - $62,109 annually. Benefits:
