Manager, Project Controls

RWE . Functional area: Project Management; Finance / Controlling. This is a full-time, permanent position with the start as soon as possible. RWE Clean Energy, LLC Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of comprehensive project control services, including schedule, cost, and budget management across multiple projects. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of project data, drive process improvements, and provide strategic insights to support construction management and organizational goals. Collaborate with Preconstruction, Execution Project Managers, and other functional groups to meet project control needs. Coordinate with Execution Project Managers and Controllers to prepare and deliver accurate, realistic, and timely project control reports (schedule, cost, budget performance). Lead budget management activities such as forecasting, accruals, and weekly financial snapshots, aligned with project goals. Analyze project performance and variances; review contractor invoices and change orders, make recommendations, and prepare reports. Support Structured Finance with Tax Equity deliverables, ensuring timely and accurate submissions. Oversee the Purchase Requisition (PR) process for project-related orders, ensuring compliance and data integrity in SAP. Develop and maintain project dashboards and trackers with precise data, formulas, formatting, and links. Ensure accuracy and integrity of project data and SharePoint document management for seamless information flow. Apply understanding of end-to-end project controls (cost, schedule, forecasting, change management) to improve reliability and reporting. Analyze performance metrics and provide actionable insights to drive project success. Lead review sessions across departments to build alignment and address gaps; mentor interns/associates and manage third-party partners and vendors. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Finance, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in project controls, financial analysis, or related discipline. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to manage customer relationships and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Solid understanding of end-to-end project controls (cost, schedule, forecasting, change management). Proficiency with real-time applications and project management software; excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams). Experience with scheduling tools (Microsoft Project or Primavera P6) preferred; familiarity with spend curve forecasting and schedule-driven cost modeling; exposure to cross-functional estimating workflows. Office-based role with some travel to other RWE locations. Ability to sit, walk, or stand for long durations. Compensation & Benefits
Pay range:
The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is
$112,000 - $166,000 . This range is a good faith estimate and may vary by location, experience, and market conditions.
