Overview
UVM Medical Center (UVMMC) is hiring a Director of Supply Chain to join their leadership team. This onsite position in Burlington, VT reports to the UVMMC leadership and serves as the senior supply chain leader across UVMMC operations, an off-site warehouse, and affiliated clinics. The Director ensures efficient, compliant, and cost-effective delivery of medical supplies and equipment, mailroom services, laundry/linen distribution, and print shop operations. The Director collaborates on system-wide initiatives and contributes to strategic supply chain planning and execution. This role includes staff leadership, budget performance, operational excellence, and UVMMC Supply Chain project management in alignment with network policies and clinical priorities. Responsibilities
Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with health system goals. Lead policy, procedure, capital planning, and performance oversight for supply chain operations. Collaborate with hospital leadership to support strategic initiatives and patient care priorities. Oversee receiving, storage, and distribution of medical supplies and equipment; ensure accurate inventory levels and timely replenishment across departments. Manage supplier relationships and recall processes. Hire, train, evaluate, and develop supply chain staff; foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth. Implement mentoring and training programs to build internal expertise. Proficiency in ERP systems, inventory management software, and data analytics; familiarity with lean principles and change management; drive continuous improvement. Ensure adherence to health system policies, accreditation standards, and safety regulations; support product standardization and backorder management through Value Analysis collaboration. Lead cross-functional coordination to align site operations with network-wide goals and clinical priorities. Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Supply Chain, Healthcare, or Business (Master’s preferred). Membership in Material Management professional organizations desirable. Twelve (12) years of experience in Supply Chain Management with at least five (5) years in a healthcare leadership role. Experience with Material Management Information Systems is required; demonstrated ability to lead cost reduction efforts. Why UVMMC
