This position is for an Endoscopy Technician in the Endoscopy department. The role involves performing various direct patient care activities and assisting with basic and advanced endoscopic procedures under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and the attending gastroenterologist.
Hours and Shift Information:
Variable shift start and end times, with a requirement of 8 hours per shift and 64 hours per 2-week pay period. Weekend work is required as needed, and on-call shifts may be necessary.
Pay and Benefits:
The hourly pay range for this position is $27.28 - $34.10 - $40.92. This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with SEIU-UHW, and employees are required to join the union within 31 days of hire.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will perform patient care activities, facilitate patient data management, and support the best use of resources in equipment, supplies, and other department resources.
Required Qualifications:
H.S. Diploma or Equivalent 2 Years of endoscopy lab experience AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association Other Qualification Requirements:
Completion of GI Technical Specialist (GTS) and Advanced GI Technical Specialist (AGTS) programs within 90 days of hire Essential Functions:
Equipment Maintenance: Provides high-level disinfection of endoscopes and maintains quality log book documentation General Support: Completes duties within time frames, maintains equipment and supplies, and ensures optimal workflow Patient Care: Performs patient care activities under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, including assisting with basic and advanced endoscopic procedures Professional Development: Actively participates in annual competency training and updates knowledge by participating in educational opportunities Specimens: Correctly collects, labels, and processes tissue specimens obtained in the Endoscopy Department Sharp HealthCare is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
