The National Security Solutions (NSS) Business Unit seeks an experienced

Solution Architect

to drive technical strategy and solution design for business opportunities, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and organizational goals. The ideal candidate has experience in Government, Defense, and Intelligence communities, supporting capture efforts, proposal writing, and oral presentations. This role aims to deliver innovative solutions that help customers transform, modernize, and accelerate the delivery of new capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Engage in customer shaping, requirements gathering, and proposal support activities, leveraging industry trends and KBR capabilities to design, develop, and deliver winning proposals.

Act as a subject matter expert translating solution requirements into proposal artifacts.

Lead the development of technical volumes for proposals, including writing, reviewing, and editing content to ensure RFP compliance.

Translate customer objectives into innovative technical solutions that address mission challenges while adhering to budget and schedule constraints.

Conduct market research, identify discriminators, and articulate value propositions that differentiate our solutions.

Develop artifacts such as system designs, technical roadmaps, and implementation plans to support proposal efforts.

Participate in reviews to refine proposal content and align with win themes.

Research emerging technologies and incorporate them into solution designs to enhance competitiveness.

Lead and write technical proposals, whitepapers, and other collateral in support of technical solutions.

Provide responses to RFIs and government market surveys or sources sought notices.

Provide basis of estimates (BOEs) for technical solutions.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 12–15 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 10–13 years of relevant experience.

Strong leadership and team-building capabilities to develop clear, concise solutions across DoD and IC environments.

Experience leading technical solutioning in partnership with business development and capture management; defense and intelligence market experience with services and products for US Government customers.

Proven ability to derive customer solutions based on understanding problems and meeting technical objectives within cost and schedule, with the ability to interact with SMEs, stakeholders, and other key roles.

Understanding of Cybersecurity, System of Systems, Software, and Agile Engineering processes used in Defense and Intelligence communities (e.g., Digital Engineering, MBSE, DevSecOps, Cloud Architectures).

Clearance Requirements Active Top Secret Clearance is required, with eligibility for TS/SCI.

Work Environment

Location: Northern Virginia; Dayton OH; Colorado Springs CO; El Segundo CA; King of Prussia PA

Travel: Minimal (0–20%)

Working Hours: Standard

Scheduled Weekly Hours:

40 hours per week.

Basic Compensation:

$169,700.00 – $254,600.00. This range is for the Colorado area. $185,900.00 – $278,800.00. This range is for the California area. The offered rate will be based on the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience.

Additional Compensation:

Bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation may be offered, including sign-on bonuses, relocation benefits, incentives, or discretionary payments per internal policy or contractual designation.
