Givebutter is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join our Donor Experience team. As an engineer, you will be responsible for delivering world-class software to our users, helping mentor other engineers, and collaborating closely with product and design to bring impactful features to the market. You will report to the Engineering Manager, Jefry Cruz, and work on expanding our donor-related tools and features. The team primarily uses PHP, Laravel, Svelte, and MySql. We have already built a great foundation, powering hundreds of millions of donations to over 40k+ organizations, and this role will take the donor experience impact much further. Contribute to building and maintaining Givebutter’s core features. Perform peer code reviews, ensuring that code meets acceptance criteria, adheres to our code guidelines, and follows engineering best practices. Take the initiative to outline the engineering approach and collaborate with the frontend and product teams to execute features. Ownership of managing bugs, documentation, and knowledge base. Work closely with the backend team to define code standards and mentor other team members. Contribute to the improvement of engineering standards, deployment infrastructure, performance, testing, and code quality. Own medium to large projects from a technical perspective within your pod, striving for clear communication and excellent execution. Evaluate and apply AI and machine learning tools (such as LLMs, recommendation systems, or predictive analytics) to drive innovation in product development. Requirements

5+ years of Engineering experience working in-house to build web applications 3+ years of experience using Laravel 3+ years in designing highly available and performant RESTful APIs Proven experience building accessible applications (a11y) Familiar with deploying code in an automated pipeline Experience debugging code and applications in production Experience writing unit tests Experience with SQL database design Experience with React, Svelte, or working with a PayFac provider (i.e., Stripe) is a plus Benefits
