The primary function of the Project Superintendent is to control all field activities related to a project including on-site field administration, supervision and technical management of all construction operations. This role supervises and mentors the Assistant Project Superintendent(s), Field Engineer(s), and laborers, and manages all daily construction operations, subcontractors, owner vendors and other construction personnel. Responsibilities
Develop, maintain and enforce project-specific site logistics plan and temporary facilities Develop, maintain and enforce project-specific site safety programs Coordinate and manage all material deliveries and subcontracts Assist the Project Manager in developing subcontractor scopes of work Provide input to the Project Manager on field activities with cost impacts; document all change orders and back charge work Develop, maintain and enforce baseline schedule and weekly 8-week look-ahead schedules Implement and manage all SWPPP measures and documentation Obtain and maintain QSP certification if required by the project Understand and enforce project documents, plans, specifications, contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, daily correspondence, shop drawings and submittals Read and enforce subcontracts and contractual obligations in the field Coordinate all field inspections and testing Management Skills
Provide pertinent field information affecting project forecasts Develop, implement, and enforce the project-specific quality control program for all subcontractors Prepare and maintain the project P6 baseline schedule and monthly updates Document delays and fragnets in the master schedule as needed Keep schedules updated for meetings with clients and subcontractors Monitor job site control reporting measures Video record and document project conditions prior to construction Ensure staff complete weekly progress photos and related documentation Prepare and distribute meeting minutes for weekly subcontractor, pre-installation, and safety meetings Create and issue project-specific Incident Reports Coordinate all JHA-related meetings with the safety department when applicable Oversee daily subcontractor coordination Document actions related to claims or potential legal actions Ensure compliance with insurance, labor relations, and EEO requirements Oversee WEO or 3rd party labor resources on site Prepare and submit weekly timesheets for WEO labor Assist in developing General Conditions budget Understand and enforce WEO and Cal-OSHA safety standards Collect man counts and daily reports; document daily work in the WEO daily report Manage completion and punch lists and ensure timely completion Mentor field staff and conduct annual performance reviews Mentor and develop skills and career paths for Field Engineers and Assistant Project Superintendents Qualifications
Four-year degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or equivalent experience; or 5-10 years of relevant project field experience as a Field Engineer and Assistant Project Superintendent or equivalent Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook Proficiency in Microsoft Project or P6 Scheduling Software; experience with Prolog, Viewpoint, CMiC or equivalent; familiarity with tools such as Bluebeam, Plan Grid, Safety Mojo, BIM 360 Glue Knowledge of construction delivery methods, market sectors, construction administration, means and methods, materials, building systems, planning, scheduling, estimating, and client relations Completion of OSHA 30-Hour Safety Course First Aid and CPR certified Benefits
