Our mission is to make all of our customers’ security-relevant data continuously available for automated detection and response, threat hunting, and other Falcon use cases. To enable this, the systems behind NG-SIEM are growing to accommodate >100 PB of event and action data ingested every day, up to 10 years of retention, and dozens of millions of queries per hour across large sections of the data stored. As a Senior Engineer I on the LogScale Search team you will be responsible for delivering this scale to customers by developing new features as well as improving existing functionality. You will join a distributed team of highly collaborative engineers who share a strong passion for the product. In this role you will work on hard engineering problems that do not have well-defined solutions and drive high-impact projects to completion. You will help drive the company’s vision of a fast, reliable and best-in-class log storage solution. Teams in LogScale have a great amount of autonomy and own a part of the LogScale experience, from ideation and development to deployment and feedback. This includes ensuring high quality of the features they deliver by writing automated tests and performing manual tests. We monitor new features in production with LogScale dashboards, and ensure LogScale remains scalable in terms of ingesting and processing events, querying data, and maintaining cluster stability. What You’ll Do: Work in a team of friendly, trustworthy and knowledgeable colleagues, supporting each other through code reviews, pairing, documentation, design reviews and technical guidance Lead by example on customer and product focus, and on hands-on operational excellence by monitoring and following up on features released to customers and troubleshooting critical issues Deliver cross-team platform-level initiatives and projects by owning or participating in scoping, designing and developing new features for open-ended problems Develop the LogScale backend in Scala and extend the product to scale with increasing ingest and query load while ensuring high availability Collaborate across teams on defining and delivering new solutions, design documents, technical talks and improving internal documentation Communicate effectively with global teams using strong verbal and written communication skills What You’ll Need: A passion for or personal interest in distributed systems and curiosity about how running systems perform 6+ years of experience in software development and the ability to balance short-term delivery with long-term product goals Experience contributing to broad technical leadership in products or services Fluency in both functional and object-oriented programming and the ability to pick up new languages quickly A can-do attitude and thrive in a collaborative team environment with responsibilities Proven track record of operational excellence for complex distributed services Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to individual contributors and management Bonus Points: Experience programming in Scala Experience with commercial clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP) Experience with compilers and language design Hands-on experience in large-scale distributed system architecture, high scalability and availability (e.g., >1 trillion requests per day or >10 PB of data per day) Exposure to or experience with Log Management or cybersecurity products Benefits Of Working At CrowdStrike: Remote-friendly and flexible work culture Market-leading compensation and equity awards Comprehensive physical and mental wellness programs Competitive vacation and holidays for recharge Paid parental and adoption leaves Professional development opportunities for all employees Employee networks and volunteer opportunities to build connections Vibrant office culture with world-class amenities Great Place to Work Certified across the globe CrowdStrike is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
