Job Summary
This position works with customers and brokerage operations to file entry corrections to U.S. Customs. It demonstrates advanced knowledge of entry writing and written communication. The role classifies and reviews the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), 19 CFR Regulations, and CROSS Rulings to prepare corrected entries and written narratives to U.S. Customs.
Responsibilities
Reviews original entry submitted to U.S. Customs to make needed corrections provided by the customer.
Post-entry processing including post summary corrections and 520(d) claims.
Prepares written narratives explaining why changes are made, with supportive literature and details.
Communicates documentation discrepancies to client and supervisor.
Provides corrected invoices and documents to the customer.
Scans entries into the imaging system within time requirements.
Follows up on documentation discrepancy issues, troubleshoots, and communicates with customers and foreign origins.
Establishes and maintains client relationships.
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent
Minimum of 2 years' experience working for a Customs Broker
Knowledge of customs operations, laws and regulations, and other government departments
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Customers Broker License - Preferred
Accurate and rapid data entry
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
