Strategic Sourcing Director
to build and lead our sourcing function, optimize vendor relationships, and deliver long-term value across the enterprise. Role Overview
The
Strategic Sourcing Director
will develop and execute sourcing strategies that align with Archer’s business objectives. This leader will oversee vendor selection, contract negotiation, category management, and supplier performance monitoring across multiple spend categories (IT, professional services, SaaS, operations, facilities, etc.). The role requires a balance of strategic vision, financial acumen, and hands-on execution. You will partner closely with Finance, Legal, Operations, and Technology teams to ensure Archer achieves cost savings, operational resilience, and risk reduction through world-class sourcing practices. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop and implement company-wide sourcing and procurement strategies aligned with Archer’s growth and risk management objectives. Drive continuous improvement in supplier performance, cost optimization, and total value delivery.
Vendor Management
Lead vendor selection processes, RFPs/RFIs, and contract negotiations for critical categories. Build strong, collaborative partnerships with key suppliers while managing risk and ensuring compliance. Establish KPIs and scorecards to evaluate vendor performance.
Category Management
Own spend categories across technology, professional services, and operations. Identify cost-saving opportunities, consolidation strategies, and innovation partnerships. Leverage data and market intelligence to make informed sourcing decisions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Finance to ensure budget alignment and accurate forecasting. Work with Legal to review, negotiate, and manage contract terms. Support IT and Operations in evaluating and sourcing SaaS, cloud, and infrastructure vendors.
Risk & Compliance
Ensure supplier compliance with Archer’s risk, security, ESG, and regulatory standards. Integrate sourcing practices with enterprise risk management frameworks.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field. 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or vendor management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Strong track record of negotiating complex contracts and delivering cost savings while maintaining quality and service levels. Deep experience in IT/software/SaaS sourcing strongly preferred. Familiarity with enterprise risk management and compliance frameworks a plus. Excellent analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.
