Join the American Red Cross as a Coordinator IV, Events. The American Red Cross is seeking an Events Coordinator to support our Fundraising initiatives across the National Capital and Greater Chesapeake Region. This is a hybrid position that can be based out of our offices in Fairfax, VA, Washington, DC, or Silver Spring, MD.
The Event Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing successful events, in collaboration with staff and volunteer leadership, to raise funds for and promote community awareness of Red Cross services.
Responsibilities:
Research, identify, cultivate, and solicit new and existing donors for monetary and/or in-kind gifts to support special events. Identify event sponsors for potential enhanced or increased partnership opportunities. Create a seamless, balanced, and enjoyable experience for potential donors through effective leadership and recognition techniques. Provide leadership and guidance to assigned event chairs and committees. Manage the implementation and production of all fundraising events, including vendor relationships, budgets, and event logistics. Collaborate with Communications and Marketing to develop materials related to events, including media releases and photo sessions. Requirements:
High School or equivalent required. Minimum 7 years of related experience and documented success in event planning or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Leadership ability with exemplary interpersonal, verbal, listening and written communication skills. Ability to work on a team. What We Offer:
