Associate Research Director, Hotels (hybrid)
About The Role:
As a CBRE Associate Research Director, Hotels, you will lead US Hotels Research and serve as a key member of the Investor Research group. The Hotels Research Manager will be primarily responsible for maintaining thought leadership for the sector. Important areas of focus will include forming and maintaining relationships with business leaders and key clients, as well as producing unique analysis and determining the appropriate channels for distribution of research.
This role will also represent the firm in client-facing meetings and conferences. Internally this position will support the business leaders with key insights that can utilized for internal strategic decisions and will partner closely with them to inform broader strategy. You will be working alongside Hotels VAS and Investment Properties groups to create a comprehensive plan of outputs, and implement innovative approaches to address and explain market conditions in the context of real estate
What You'll Do:
Thought Leadership: Competently analyze the state of the Hotel Market and provide internal and external clients with actionable intelligence. Review and rationalize current Hotels sector outputs. Determine and utilize appropriate channels for distribution of insights, including presentations, reports, etc. Market Intelligence: Become a key point of differentiation for CBRE by utilizing internal and external hotel, financial and economic data sources to produce unique insights. Digital Innovation and Analytics: In collaboration with the forecasting and VAS functions, utilize the proprietary analytics platforms as core competitive differentiators for Hotels Research. Cross Team Collaboration: Work within a broader research team to ensure narratives are consistent across the platform. Collaborate with other research sectors leaders to establish market and investment themes to guide team priorities Revenue Generation Support: Partner with CBRE Hotels business leaders to ensure the functions are supported with insights. Develop relationships with key hotel clients to understand needs, drive client engagement and transaction flow for CBRE business. Representing CBRE: As requested, represent CBRE in key public forums including conferences and media. What You'll Need:
An undergraduate degree in economics/ finance/ real estate or a related discipline. 8+ years experience as an economist or a researcher in private sector. Solid understanding of commercial real estate, particularly hotels. Ability to identify, quantify and communicate key trends affecting real estate and the industry decision makers. Effective communicator. Strong writing and quantitative skills, with some familiarity with data science techniques. Excellent presentation skills with a track record at conferences and/or virtual presenting. A team player with strong leadership and influencing skills. Self-motivated, strong attention to detail and able to demonstrate good time management skills.
