We are seeking an IT & Engineering SOX Manager to lead IT risk and controls across critical financial systems and partner with IT, Engineering, and Security teams to support control design, system readiness, and key technology change initiatives.

Responsibilities

Focus on IT risk and controls across critical financial systems; partner with IT, Engineering, and Security teams to support effective control design, system readiness, and advising on key technology change initiatives.

Advise IT and engineering teams on SOX requirements related to access, change management, job management, third-party service organization and SDLC controls.

Assess the SOX effectiveness of internally built systems, enhancements, and automation initiatives.

Provide guidance on IT general, interface and automated control design in alignment with COSO framework and auditing standards.

Identify scalable control automation opportunities with technology and engineering stakeholders.

Lead IT control testing readiness and remediation oversight.

Deliver SOX IT training and enablement tailored for technical and engineering control owners.

Lead and manage IT SOX compliance activities, including annual planning, system scoping, walk-throughs, documentation, and analysis of procedures and controls in accordance with PCAOB and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

Evaluate key risks in financial processes and propose changes in control design to address risks; review control evidence for accuracy, completeness, and precision of control execution for IT General Controls.

Advise on Segregation of Duties rules and mitigating controls.

Develop effective working relationships with finance, engineering, and IT stakeholders.

Work independently with external auditors to review testing results and facilitate the external auditor’s assessment of internal controls over financial reporting.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Security or related field.

At least 5 years of experience in SOX compliance and internal audit including IT audit, information security process controls, and system implementation.

Comprehensive understanding of PCAOB standards, SOX regulations (SOX 404), and COSO framework.

Strong background in access management, change management, computer operations auditing techniques and/or computer control environments.

SOX experience identifying controls, developing and executing test plans for IT Application Controls, IT General Controls and key reports/IPE.

Familiarity with source code management systems (e.g., GitHub), internally built tools and continuous integration processes.

Ability to lead complex projects across multiple business groups; excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to translate technical concepts into risk language for business and audit stakeholders.

Attention to detail, organized, and thorough with a drive for continuous improvement.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Qualifications

Experience in IT auditing at a Big Four firm and industry experience in technology and engineering.

Experience managing internal audit projects, including data analytics and automation programs.

Knowledge of SOC 1/2 audits and supporting documentation.

System-related certifications such as CISA, CISSP.

Salary and Benefits The base salary range for this position is $143,000 - $229,000 per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, starting base pay is based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, education or training, and market conditions. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
