We are recruiting on behalf of a confidential energy client seeking a Vice President of Software Engineering & Enterprise Analytics to shape the vision, strategy, and execution of enterprise software, analytics, and AI solutions. Reporting to the CIO, this executive will oversee global teams of engineers, data scientists, and analytics professionals to deliver scalable platforms, advanced analytics, and business intelligence that drive operational and commercial excellence.
This role is ideal for a proven leader with a track record in industrial or energy environments, who can combine technical depth in software engineering and AI/ML with executive-level business acumen.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Technology Leadership
Define and execute a unified vision and roadmap for enterprise software, analytics, and AI.
Drive modernization initiatives, including cloud adoption, AI/ML integration, and legacy refactoring.
Establish engineering and analytics standards, governance, and KPIs.
Software Engineering Excellence
Lead development, deployment, and lifecycle management of custom and enterprise platforms.
Ensure best practices in agile, CI/CD, quality assurance, and architecture decisions.
Manage vendor evaluations, third-party integrations, and contracts.
Direct enterprise data strategy, governance, and architecture.
Deliver business intelligence, dashboards, predictive models, and advanced analytics.
Champion adoption of AI/ML to improve operational efficiency and reliability.
Cross-Functional Business Partnership
Collaborate with leaders in operations, finance, commercial, and plant/pipeline functions to enable digital transformation.
Translate business needs into technology portfolios and integrated roadmaps.
Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on digital, software, and analytics strategy.
Organizational Leadership
Recruit, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of engineers, data professionals, and analytics experts.
Oversee budgeting, staff planning, and vendor management.
Foster an innovative, inclusive culture focused on measurable business outcomes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, or related field; Master’s preferred.
10+ years of progressive leadership
in software engineering, enterprise analytics, or data platforms, including at least 2+ years at the executive level. Proven success leading software, analytics, and AI teams in
complex, high-growth, or industrial/energy settings . Experience deploying enterprise-scale solutions integrating data, cloud, and applications. Expertise in application architecture, BI, and machine learning. Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and business acumen.
