The Lead Linux Engineer will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing Linux-based systems that power both office and production environments. This role requires deep technical expertise in Linux administration, automation, and performance tuning, along with leadership ability to guide a small team and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders. The engineer will play a central role in building secure, resilient, and scalable infrastructure while introducing best practices for system architecture, monitoring, and high availability.

This role is designed with a clear path toward leadership . Initially, the individual will focus on driving personal contributions and strengthening business relationships, with the

opportunity to transition into a leadership capacity over time. Position Summary: Architect, implement, and maintain office and production IT infrastructure. Lead in the troubleshooting, deployment, and lifecycle management of Linux systems (Ubuntu, Debian, RHEL). Implement and maintain configuration management and infrastructure-as-code practices using tools like Ansible and Terraform. Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of critical systems through clustering, redundancy, and proactive monitoring. Automate system provisioning, patching, and deployments to reduce manual overhead and increase reliability. Manage enterprise authentication, directory services, and access control solutions (Active Directory, LDAP, MFA). Optimize system performance by tuning kernels, storage, and networking for large-scale workloads. Partner with teams on containerization strategies and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes). Build and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using Wazuh, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar platforms. Serve as an escalation point for advanced troubleshooting of Linux servers, networking, and security issues. Mentor junior engineers and share expertise through documentation, training, and peer collaboration. Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for system improvements and adoption. The ideal candidate will have: 5+ years of experience administering enterprise-scale Linux systems (Ubuntu/Debian/RHEL preferred). Strong command-line expertise and advanced knowledge of shell scripting and automation (Bash, Python, Ruby). Deep understanding of core protocols and services: TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, SMTP, IMAP, VPNs, and firewalls. Hands-on experience with virtualization and cloud platforms (VMware, AWS). Demonstrated expertise in system hardening, patch management, and backup/restore strategies. Proficiency with infrastructure automation frameworks (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or similar). Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and performance-tuning skills. Excellent communication skills and experience leading or mentoring technical teams.
