Principal Data Scientist, Real World Evidence (RWE) . The primary location for this position is flexible: Titusville, NJ; Raritan, NJ; Spring House, PA; Cambridge, MA; or San Diego, CA. Johnson & Johnson is committed to advancing health through innovative medicine, with research spanning oncology, immunology, neuroscience, cardiopulmonary, and specialty ophthalmology. The Real-World Evidence (RWE) team develops evidence solutions and insights from diverse data sources to support clinical programs and regulatory submissions, aiming to improve patient outcomes and clinical development. Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the development of a portfolio of RWE projects based on real-world data to provide insights for pipeline assets Leverage emerging scientific and technological developments to generate new research ideas and initiatives using real-world data Lead end-to-end RWE studies, including research question conceptualization, data feasibility, study design, analysis, programming, and interpretation Analyze and interpret data to support urgent requests from internal and external stakeholders Ensure quality in design, execution, and publication of RWE studies and in models/tools Create study protocols, statistical analysis plans, and statistical programming deliverables Clearly communicate highly technical methods and results to diverse audiences to drive decision-making Ensure RWE generation aligns with regulatory requirements and scientific standards Required Qualifications
A Ph.D. degree, or master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., epidemiology, biostatistics, statistics, or similar) Relevant experience (2+ years for Ph.D., 4+ years for a master’s) in biopharma, RWE consulting, or related healthcare industries Extensive hands-on experience with data engineering and data analysis Proven track record of delivering high-impact data science projects Expert proficiency in R and SQL Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills Preferred Qualifications
Experience delivering data science projects using predictive technologies (machine learning, deep learning, or forecasting) Familiarity with drug discovery and clinical development processes in oncology, immunology, neuroscience, or specialty ophthalmology Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated base pay range for this position is:
$115,000 - $197,800 Additional description for pay transparency and eligible benefits includes medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and group legal insurance, with potential participation in retirement and time-off programs. Equal Opportunity Employer
