Sidley Austin LLP The Data Governance Lead will enhance data governance initiatives by creating Collibra data governance tooling. The incumbent will have a deep understanding of Collibra implementation, data governance frameworks, metadata management, and regulatory compliance. This role involves close collaboration with business and engineering stakeholders to drive data governance adoption, improve data quality, and ensure compliance with industry standards. Summary : The Data Governance Lead will be responsible for leading the design for data stewardship frameworks, creating workflows and operating models within Collibra, and developing and enforcing data governance policies, standards, and best practices across the organization. Duties And Responsibilities
Lead the design for data stewardship frameworks in alignment with Collibra’s capabilities. Create workflows and operating models within Collibra. Create standards to support the enterprise build out of business glossaries. Develop and enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices across the organization. Drive data lineage, metadata management, and stewardship programs. Create frameworks for data quality rules and ensure continuous monitoring of data assets. Collaborate with Collibra product owner to ensure seamless integration with data management roles and processes. Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.). Conduct data governance assessments and audits to ensure adherence to governance policies. Support the Enterprise Data Council and escalation of data governance related issues. Build out a data literacy program to support the education and data producers, owners, consumers and stewards. Base pay range
$132,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr Target Salary Range
$132,000 - $150,000 if located in Illinois Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Management Information Systems or related field A minimum of 5 years of experience in data governance, metadata management, or data management. A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with Collibra. Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA DMBOK, DCAM). Experience with data lineage, data catalogs, and data stewardship programs. Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.). Proven ability to learn new technical applications quickly Preferred
