We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to support our client on a mission-critical project. The selected candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing scalable, high-performance Java applications that support business goals and enhance system functionality. This role will involve close collaboration with product managers, stakeholders, and technical teams to ensure the successful delivery of solutions that meet both technical requirements and organizational objectives. Overview:

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Java, microservices, and cloud technologies, along with proven experience working on large-scale enterprise systems, preferably within government or human services programs. Duties: Design, develop, and implement complex, high-volume, and low-latency Java applications. Analyze existing systems to determine technical requirements and develop software solutions aligned with business goals. Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional stakeholders to define application objectives, features, and functionality. Contribute to all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), from analysis and design to deployment and ongoing maintenance. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues, including complex production problems such as memory leaks and network failures. Recommend enhancements and upgrades to Java infrastructure to improve performance, scalability, and system longevity. Support deployment activities, ensuring successful integration of new features and maintaining system stability. Create and maintain detailed technical documentation and user support materials. Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, introducing innovative solutions where applicable. Mandatory Qualifications: 7+ years of experience working on complex projects with 2 or more years in a leadership role as a Developer. 7+ years of experience as a Java developer including experience in Java/J2EE and object-oriented programming (OOP) principles, design patterns, and SOLID principles. 7+ years of experience with popular frameworks, particularly Spring (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security) and ORM technologies like Hibernate or JPA. 7+ years of proven experience designing, building, and maintaining microservices architectures and RESTful APIs. 7+ years of experience with testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Mockito) and proficiency with build tools like Maven or Gradle 7+ years of experience with major cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, including an understanding of containerization with Docker and Kubernetes. 7+ years of experience with DevOps principles and experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins. 2+ years of experience working in a federal or state government setting (Health and Human Services, especially in Integrated Eligibility System programs such as PA, TA, SNAP, HEAP, Fair Hearings, Child Support, etc. preferred) Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience 7+ years of experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL) and SQL, as well as experience with NoSQL databases Cloud and Things complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding recruitment and hiring.
