Are you ready to lead with purpose and drive strategic impact? As the AVP, Insurance Underwriting Operations – Retail Property, you’ll take on a high-profile leadership role within Everest Insurance’s Underwriting Services Team. You’ll oversee multiple teams across the U.S., serve as a key liaison between Underwriting and North America Operations, and play a pivotal role in shaping operational excellence and transformation. This is a hybrid role (3 days in office/2 days remote) based out of our Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, or Warren, NJ office. What You’ll Do

Lead Teams & Drive Operational Excellence: Manage two core teams (20+ members) supporting Retail Property Underwriters, with matrix oversight of Wholesale Property. Oversee audit responses and apply root cause analysis where needed. Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement. Recruit, mentor, and empower your extended leadership team. Align Strategy Across Functions: Act as the primary liaison between Retail Property Underwriting and North America Operations, including Data & Analytics. Provide strategic guidance to senior leaders on operational and technology initiatives. Coordinate cross-functional projects that support product leaders and broader business goals. Lead initiatives such as broker data management, product filings, and alignment with Corporate Underwriting guidelines. Deliver Results & Lead Change: Achieve operational metrics and customer experience goals through proactive monitoring and problem-solving. Champion change management to support adoption of new tools, workflows, and strategic initiatives. Break down silos and apply best practices to ensure long-term operational sustainability. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience. 10+ years in (re)insurance, including 5+ years in strategic leadership. Minimum 5 years of experience in Retail Property leadership. Proven success in operating model transformation and change management. Strong background in project management and cross-functional delivery. Experience in matrixed and virtual environments is a plus. Demonstrated ability to deliver on key performance indicators. Skills That Set You Apart

The base salary range for this position is $152,000 - $190,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location. All offers include access to a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
