Overview

LPN position at Atrium Health One Health: Birkdale Landing – Family Medicine. Full-time, 40 hours per week. Schedule: Monday - Friday (4 - 10 hour shifts) or 3-12 hour shifts. Pay range: $23.65 - $35.50 per hour. Responsibilities

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care or arrange for the provision of appropriate care, for patients, as pertinent to the scope of nursing practice and the office setting. Appropriately and accurately documents all patient care/interactions in the patient medical record. Participates in telephone triage by obtaining clinically appropriate data and symptoms from the patient and advises/instructs patients per established protocols and provider orders. Ensures all ordered laboratory and diagnostic tests are tracked and logged, and presents test results to the provider. Pre-visit planning with provider and care team. Administers medications, including injections. Checks vital signs, height, and weight. Assists with reviewing medication history and updating the medication list. Facilitates health maintenance activities as applicable. Assists providers during procedures and examinations; performs instrument and room clean-up. Follows standard precautions and complies with applicable regulatory standards (OSHA, CLIA, TJC/DFS, and other regulatory agencies). Reports patient condition and reaction to the provider following procedures, medication administration, or treatments. Assists with patient inquiries for prescription refills, appointment scheduling, and referral authorization as needed. Performs electronic documentation of care as directed by the provider and may enter orders in EMR (CPOE) per provider order. Completes CLIA-waived laboratory tests and in-office diagnostic testing, including point-of-care testing such as Hemoglobin A1C; performs quality control and maintenance for point-of-care labs as applicable. Performs venipuncture and may assist with specimen collection for laboratory testing; completes lab requisitions and prepares specimens for pick-up. Provides patient with a summary of the visit and review of care at the end of the visit. Responsible for vaccine and pharmaceutical orders in accordance with state immunization registries (NCIR/SC DHEC) regulations and inventory monitoring of clinical supplies for the practice. Qualifications

Licensed Practical Nurse with an active license to practice in the applicable state where the practice is located; graduate of an accredited practical nursing program. Previous medical office experience preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required per policy guidelines. Physical and Other Requirements

Work involves walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds. Possible exposure to communicable diseases. Must be fluent in basic English (speaking, reading, writing). Good manual dexterity. About the Organization
