LPN/ MA (Medical Assistant): Regency Family Medicine – Full Time, Day Shift at MercyOne North Iowa. MercyOne’s mission is to improve the health of our communities, not only when you are sick but by helping you stay well. Responsibilities

Escort patients to exam rooms and document data including chief complaint, allergies, vital signs, pain level, medication history, and fall risk. Obtain and review basic health history information. Prepare exam rooms with required equipment and supplies. Assist with exams and procedures as requested. Follow Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa policies and universal precautions for lab/diagnostic tests. Report and document critical lab values to the provider. Perform, maintain, and document quality controls as applicable. Assist in scheduling patients for appointments, labs, tests, and referrals. Review test preparation materials with patients and document in the medical record. Refer patients to a provider/registered nurse for education as needed. Complete charge tickets and submit charges in the electronic health record, including obtaining diagnosis and identifying billable supplies and services. Obtain ABN as necessary. Administer medications with emphasis on patient safety and document administration. Maintain competency across routes (IM, SQ, ID, oral, inhalation, ocular, optic, topical, sublingual, and nasal). Document follow-up on patient messages under supervision of a provider. Schedule

Full Time Days M-F General Requirements

A minimum of six months of work experience in a health care facility performing patient-care duties is preferred. Additional experience with computer systems is preferred. Education

LPN: Graduate of a nursing program; current Iowa Practical Nurse license required. A current Minnesota license may be required based on department needs and must be current before working in a Minnesota location. Medical Assistant: Graduate of an approved school; credentialed as a medical assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA) required. Benefits & Equal Opportunity
