The Director of Practice Operations will lead the day-to-day management and operations of Grady’s Ponce De Leon Center for HIV Prevention and Treatment Clinic. This role involves operational oversight, program implementation, and change management to ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. The Director will manage and oversee the Advanced Practice Providers, Nursing, and Referral Coordination, as well as collaborate closely with clinical leadership, academic partners, grant administrators, and other stakeholders within and outside of the health system to support the mission of delivering equitable HIV prevention and treatment services. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing complex healthcare operations, particularly in public or safety-net systems, with a strong understanding of grant-funded program requirements and academic collaboration. A clinical background in HIV, infectious disease, LGBTQ+, and/or underserved communities, familiarity with EPIC electronic health record (EHR) systems are strongly preferred. The Ponce De Leon Center is one of the largest, most comprehensive facilities dedicated to the treatment of advanced HIV/AIDS in the United States. Founded in 1986, the Ponce Center and its onsite affiliates provide clinical and support services for HIV Prevention and Treatment to approximately 12,000 eligible men, women, adolescents, and children. Responsibilities: Oversee day-to-day clinical operations, ensuring efficient access, patient flow, staff productivity, and adherence to quality and safety standards. Co-manage daily clinical schedules in collaboration with nursing and medical leadership, ensuring optimal provider coverage, appointment access, and coordination of care. Implement and optimize HIV prevention and treatment programs, including PrEP, PEP, ART, and linkage-to-care initiatives. Lead operational integration of new services and grants, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams, academic partners, and community stakeholders. Supervise and advise the managers/supervisors at assigned practices and support them in managing the practice. Analyzing access (lead time) and patient throughput (cycle time) and provider/schedule utilization. Partner with nurse leader and Medical Director including regular meetings. Optimize provider templates. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Management/Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or related field. Five (5) or more years job related experience in ambulatory healthcare operations, including at least two (2) years of management experience within a hospital or physician practice operation. Experience working in or with academic medical centers or public health systems. Demonstrated experience with program implementation and change management in healthcare settings. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Health Care Management/Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or related field. Clinical background (e.g., RN, NP, PA, MPH with clinical experience). Familiarity with federal funding programs and grant administration (e.g., HRSA, CDC, SAMHSA). Proficient with EPIC or other major EHR systems. Experience in HIV care, infectious diseases, or LGBTQ+ health. Bilingual or multilingual proficiency. Lean, Six Sigma, or other quality improvement training. Knowledge of health equity and social determinants of health.
