Overview

Zurich North America is currently looking for an Actuary to join our Reserving team focused on Large Casualty and Large Property. This role will be based out of one of our main offices (Schaumburg Headquarters, Chicago, New York City, or Toronto). We offer the flexibility to work both in the office and remotely (hybrid schedule). You will collaborate with your manager to set a schedule that supports you and the team. Responsibilities

Conduct quarterly premium & loss reserve analyses to make recommendations for quarterly financial results including IFRS 17 components of discount and risk adjustment. Assist in the preparation of materials for quarterly reserve governance committee. Ensure loss reserves and IFRS 17 components are appropriately reflected in the financial close. Perform loss ratio planning & forecasting including IFRS 17 elements. Collaborate regularly with Underwriting, Claims, Finance, and Pricing to develop insights on trends and emerging issues on the insurance portfolios. Engage and seek alignment with Pricing colleagues on forward looking loss ratios. Communicate reserve recommendations with financial impacts along with insights derived from reserving work to management within Actuarial, Finance, and Underwriting. Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associates Degree OR Bachelors Degree AND 5 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area plus FCAS or equivalent international certification OR 10 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area plus ACAS or equivalent international certification Preferred Qualifications

Experience in multiple functional areas (pricing, reserving, capital management) and knowledge/skills reflective of a senior practitioner Strong verbal and written communication skills Employment details

The salary indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is

$130,000.00-$213,000.00 , with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%. As an insurance company, Zurich is subject to 18 U.S. Code 1033. EEO and company information
