Overview
The Senior Product Owner – Salesforce Marketing Cloud & Data Cloud will be responsible for driving requirements gathering and managing our client’s Salesforce Marketing Cloud implementation projects. With 15 years of proven experience in B2B Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions, this role requires a deep understanding of enterprise-level marketing operations and customer engagement strategies. Key responsibilities include understanding organizational needs around Salesforce Marketing Cloud & Data Cloud, identifying and capturing business requirements, configuring and troubleshooting solutions, documenting user stories, and ensuring they are effectively communicated and understood by business stakeholders. This role will bridge the gap between business needs and technical delivery, ensuring successful implementation and adoption. Responsibilities
Meet with clients to analyze their work practices and understand the nature of their businesses to properly define needs and customize marketing solutions using the Salesforce Marketing Cloud & Data Cloud platform. Act as the primary point of contact between marketing teams and development teams, ensuring alignment of marketing objectives with technical capabilities. Develop and maintain the product backlog, prioritizing features and enhancements based on business value, stakeholder feedback, and market trends. Lead or collaborate with the Scrum Master on sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint review sessions, effectively communicating priorities and expectations to the development team. Work closely with marketing analysts to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics for marketing campaigns and initiatives. Provide guidance on best practices for email marketing, automation, personalization, and customer journey mapping within Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Monitor campaign performance and user feedback, iterating on features and functionality to optimize results and drive continuous improvement. Maintain a strong understanding of Agile principles and methodologies, with experience leading Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint review. Strategic thinker with a customer-centric approach, able to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation in marketing strategies and campaigns. Design customer journeys and data models with clients, with extensive experience across Marketing Cloud Studios & Builders (Email Studio, Content Builder, Journey Builder, Automation Studio) and, ideally, Cloud Pages, Mobile Studio, Data Cloud, Advertising Studio, Social Studio & Google Analytics. Understand Marketing Cloud editions (Engagement, Growth, Advanced & Next) including licensing, SKUs and usage limits. Experience with Agentforce for Marketing Cloud agents and building a preference center using Salesforce Core and Marketing Cloud. Experience integrating Salesforce CRM (Sales & Service Cloud, Communities). Collaborate effectively as a team player with a can-do attitude and provide guidance to ensure best practices in implementation. Gather and translate business needs and assess data required to launch campaigns. Understand and validate the details of deliverables as provided by vendors and project resources. Evaluate existing project management processes and drive continuous improvement practices; develop clear, efficient and repeatable processes. Requirements
A minimum of two (10 to 15) years of experience working with Salesforce and Marketing Cloud; candidates must have completed at least 5 or more Marketing Cloud projects including non-Salesforce. Proven ability to build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment. Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment. Desire to work in an information systems environment. Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills. Excellent leadership and management skills. Exceptional ability to interpret/analyze business needs and translate to technical requirements. Knowledge of integration design for data flows between systems. Ability to manipulate data in Microsoft Excel. Salesforce Marketing Cloud Consultant certification is a plus. Data Cloud Consultant Certification is a plus. Agentforce Specialist Certification is a plus. Education
