Freelance In-Person Event Specialist - Denver, CO
Visit.org is looking for an experienced, responsible, and driven Freelance Event Specialist, based in Denver, CO, to help manage the logistics of an upcoming in-person event. The right candidate will have corporate event experience, an entrepreneurial spirit, passion for our mission, and the energy and discipline to thrive in a start-up tech environment. Responsibilities
Coordinate all event details, ship materials, and arrange staffing for each event; be on-site as the day-of hands-on Event Coordinator for fun, engaging, team-building, social impact activities and events that support a great cause. Event preparation: join virtual planning meetings with corporate partner, nonprofit partner, Visit.org event host, and other coordinators. Take ownership of in-person events: set up, align with the onsite team, tear down, clean areas, problem-solve, and ensure high-quality customer experience. Act as Visit.org representative, leader, and problem solver at events. Align roles and responsibilities with the onsite team (event host, nonprofit, venue, additional staff, and corporate partner). Manage check-in process; provide a warm and friendly welcome to guests. Problem-solve issues such as missing supplies, late staff, or technology challenges; escalate to the Events Team when necessary. Send consistent updates, photos, and videos to the Events Team during the event. After the event, breakdown, clean the site, repackage and ship materials back to the distribution center. Pack supplies and apply shipping labels; this may include loading boxes. Requirements
Fluency in English and strong communication skills Based in Denver, CO Contract-per-event availability with schedule flexibility Experience in complex, large-scale events and smaller executive-level events Proven ability to execute events at a high level and enhance content and customer experience Resourcefulness, grace under pressure, and solutions-minded in ambiguous situations Quick thinker with backup plans and on-the-fly problem-solving Self-starter, organized, and detail-oriented Enjoy building relationships with customers and providing excellent customer service Experience with group facilitation and managing group dynamics Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends Willingness to travel to various areas of the local region Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, especially in fast-paced situations Able to wear many hats and take on varied tasks and projects Comfort being present and interacting with large crowds Physical Demands:
Able to lift, slide, and carry up to 30 lbs Able to stand for extended periods
This is an on-location, in-person, per-event contract role in Denver, CO. This role is open only to candidates already based in Denver, CO. No relocation packages are offered at this time. Benefits
