Sorenson Engineering Inc. This position is for an experienced CAD Manager with in-depth knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault to lead and optimize our design and data management processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing best practices, auditing the usage of our CAD applications, setting up continuous training programs, troubleshooting technical issues, and driving process improvements. Familiarity with coolOrange Powerjobs is a plus. Responsibilities

Best Practices & Standards: Develop, implement, and maintain CAD standards and best practices for Autodesk Inventor and Vault. Create documentation, libraries, and templates to ensure consistency and efficiency across design teams. System Administration & Audit: Oversee and administer Autodesk Vault for user access, data organization, and lifecycle management. Conduct periodic audits of CAD usage, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards. Identify potential issues or inefficiencies and recommend strategic improvements. Training & Support: Design and deliver continuous training programs for new and existing team members on Autodesk Inventor, Vault, and related tools. Serve as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting and resolving CAD-related technical issues. Provide user support, guidelines, and quick reference materials to enhance productivity. Process Optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, IT, Production) to streamline workflows and improve overall project quality. Assess new tools, features, or add-ons to improve the efficiency of design processes. Evaluate, integrate and maintain automation solutions, such as coolOrange Powerjobs. Project Management: Manage projects related to CAD standards implementation, system upgrades, and other continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure project timelines, budgets, and objectives are met. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with leadership and department heads to align CAD strategies with broader organizational goals. Communicate CAD status, issues, and updates to all relevant stakeholders. Qualifications

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Minimum of 8 years working with Autodesk Inventor in a professional design/engineering environment. Hands-on experience administering and managing Autodesk Vault for version control and data management. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (modeling, assemblies, drawings, design automation); deep understanding of Vault configuration, file management, user permissions, and lifecycles; familiarity with CAD standards (ASME, ISO) and engineering best practices; ability to create and manage libraries, templates, and custom content; troubleshooting skills for CAD and data management issues. Soft Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to train and mentor diverse teams; proven problem-solving abilities and a track record of process improvements; strong organizational, time management, and project management skills. Preferred Qualifications: coolOrange Powerjobs knowledge or experience; experience with scripting or API integrations for Autodesk products; prior experience leading or supervising a CAD team. Physical Demands

Must be able to access and navigate to each department of the facility; must have good eyesight and hand dexterity, and able to identify and distinguish colors. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs. May have prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Work Environment
