Overview
Senior Director, Inpatient Nursing at Sutter Health. Provides administrative and nursing leadership to a team of multi-disciplinary leaders delivering patient care; partners with physicians, medical staff and Sutter Health leaders to facilitate and collaborate on initiatives and resolve operational challenges. Works with senior leadership to develop short- and long-term strategic plans and priorities aligned with system, operating unit or affiliate goals. Establishes direction for policies and procedures and a structure for providing safe, consistent and effective patient care. Establishes operating and capital budgets with input from management and ensures financial targets are achieved. Responsibilities
Provide administrative and nursing leadership to multi-disciplinary teams managing the delivery of patient care. Participate in system-sponsored nursing and other initiatives; establish goals and standards to support patient care and achieve high-value quality care. Develop partnerships with physicians, medical staff and leaders to facilitate initiatives and resolve operational challenges. Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and establish short- and long-term strategic plans; set priorities to align with business objectives and annual plans. Establish the direction of policies and procedures and create a structure for safe, consistent, and effective patient care. Establish operating and capital budgets with input from management; ensure financial targets are met and variances addressed in a timely manner. Qualifications
Bachelor\'s: Degree in Nursing, Health Administration or related field, or equivalent education/experience. RN - Registered Nurse of California; BLS - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider. 15 years of recent relevant experience. Skills & Knowledge
Demonstrates clinical proficiency and knowledge to plan and coordinate patient care consistent with applicable standards and regulations. Understanding of clinical operations and workflows and how they impact other department operations. Working knowledge of healthcare laws, licensing and accreditation requirements; ability to interpret and implement applicable requirements to ensure compliance. Knowledge of emerging trends and regulatory changes and their impact on operations. Business acumen to establish goals and standards and make sound decisions. Leadership presence with the ability to engage others and respond to questions with clarity and authority. Familiarity with various care delivery methods and quality improvement concepts. Ability to build effective working relationships, collaborate, and build consensus with stakeholders. Problem solving skills and ability to manage difficult circumstances. Understanding of wage and hour laws; commitment to exceptional customer service and responsive communication. Strong verbal and written communication, and presentation skills; ability to convey concepts clearly to management and staff. Financial planning, budgeting and the healthcare financial environment understanding. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and work with a diverse population in an inclusive environment. The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. Base pay is one part of the total rewards program; eligible roles may also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
