Sutter Health The Neonatology Nurse Practitioner (NNP) is responsible for the application of the nursing process, supervision of clinical practice, consultative services, inter- and intradepartmental liaison, education, leadership, research involvement, and patient care management across the continuum from preventative care through discharge. The role includes autonomous decision-making and collaboration with board-certified or board-eligible physicians to deliver expert care. Schedule includes both 8-hour day shifts and night shifts (16 and 24 hours). The NNP reports to the NICU Medical Director and serves as a central member of the medical team. Provides individualized care according to professional nursing standards, patient care plans, performance improvement plans, patient education plans, and organizational policies and codes of conduct. Performs duties with sensitivity to and understanding of age and developmental milestones for both neonates and infants—ensuring safety, and employing appropriate interventions and evaluations. Clinic Sites As part of our integrated practice, you will provide care across two clinical sites. Alta Bates Summitt Medical Center 55 bed NICU level III NICU over 4000 deliveries per year California Pacific Medical Center Regional 35-bed Level III NICU Active well-baby service Large maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) program Transport services and high-risk perinatal navigation Comprehensive pediatric subspecialty support via partnership with Stanford Children’s Hospital Requirements Experience: Minimum one (1) year as a Neonatology Nurse Practitioner (NNP), preferably in a NICU. At least three (3) years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner. Education, Licensure & Certifications: Master’s degree in Nursing. Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing. Current/eligible California RN and NNP license. National Nurse Practitioner certification. Valid DEA license and Furnishing Number. Current BLS and PALS certifications. We Offer Generous benefits package and CME allowance.
