The Department of Pediatrics at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine is seeking a per-diem Neonatologist to serve the clinical and educational missions of the Division of Neonatology. The division is based at Tampa General Hospital (TGH) in Tampa, FL. TGH is a 1,018-bed teaching hospital affiliated with the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. It is a private not-for-profit hospital and one of the most comprehensive medical facilities in west central Florida, serving a dozen counties with a population of over 4 million. The 82-bed Jennifer Leigh Muma NICU is a designated Regional Perinatal Intensive Care Center designated by the State of Florida to deliver the highest level of medical care to premature and sick infants, and to women with high-risk pregnancies. USF/TGH Neonatology also participates in the Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative, a statewide initiative to improve maternal and infant health outcomes in Florida. Responsibilities
Duties:
Clinical duties: Provides clinical services in the Tampa General Hospital NICU with neonatal nurse practitioners, neonatology fellows, pediatric residents, and medical students. Attend high-risk deliveries. Other duties as assigned. Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities. Responsible for academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department/unit on university and/or Statewide committees. Qualifications
Education & Experience Minimum Qualifications Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent required. To perform this position, the candidate will need to obtain and maintain a full unrestricted FL Medical License, maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan, and be a medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals he/she is assigned to perform clinical duties. The candidate will participate in the teaching of residents, fellows, and medical students in clinical medicine. Candidate must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Neonatal and Perinatal Medicine. Preferred Qualifications Candidates with 5-7 years of professional experience, and a demonstrated track record of leading or developing programs in the clinical or research setting.
