Summary: Meta seeks an experienced professional to support the company’s public policy and government relations efforts in the Midwest in North America. Candidates should demonstrate experience in state public policy, political engagement, and issue advocacy and have a demonstrated experience understanding of internet, technology, and economic development policy. Candidates should also possess a thorough understanding knowledge of and passion for Meta’s products. A self-motivated team player will thrive in this role. Frequent travel is required. Responsibilities
Work directly with state policymakers to promote the safe and efficient use of internet technologies and economic development in the region
Monitor the political environment and identify opportunities to advance state and local policies that benefit the company, the state, and our local communities where we reside
Work closely with industry groups, nonprofits and legislative organizations to promote company objectives for economic development and a safe, secure, and open internet
Manage relationships with state policymakers
Ensure that Meta cross-functional partners and internal stakeholders receive timely updates on developments
Develop strategies for engagement with chambers of commerce, industry associations, non-profits, and civil society groups to advance priorities in region
Willingness to travel (primarily in-region) up to 60% of the time based on need
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree
3+ years of experience in state public policy, advocacy, or government affairs
Experience with the political process, policymakers, and stakeholders in region
Knowledge of technology and economic development policy and advocacy landscape in region
Experience working cross-functionally
Demonstrated experience creating and implement advocacy campaigns directly relevant to state government, including achieving short and long term milestones related to advancing policy, political and/or advocacy goals
Creative problem-solving, negotiation, and multi-tasking skills in a deadline driven environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing trade associations and contract lobbyists
Experience communicating nuanced concepts to a wide array of audiences
Demonstrated proficiency with technology policy and advocacy landscape in region
Public Compensation
Public Compensation:
$151,000/year to $216,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits Industry:
