Job Description: Position: Associate Creative Director (ACD), Skincare – Contract (Maternity Leave Coverage) Location: Remote or Hybrid (San Francisco-based preferred). Candidates must be able to work remotely, be available for in-office collaboration if hybrid, and travel for on-set production as needed. We translate business goals and category priorities into compelling creative that spans paid media, social, digital, in-store, and brand partnerships. We champion inclusive storytelling, visual excellence, and strategic thinking to deepen client connection and reinforce authority in skincare. Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Associate Creative Director (ACD) to provide maternity leave coverage on our Skincare Design team. This is a leadership role responsible for guiding the creative vision and execution of 360 marketing campaigns across digital, social, paid media, and in-store channels. The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and a hands-on creative leader who thrives in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. Own the creative strategy, concepting, and execution of skincare campaigns across all channels (paid, social, digital, in-store) Lead cross-functional campaign alignment and present creative work to executive stakeholders Mentor and manage team of art directors and designers, providing clear direction, actionable feedback, and developmental support Oversee photo and video shoots, ensuring alignment with campaign vision (on-set direction experience required) Review and approve work across all campaign phases to uphold creative excellence and brand standards Collaborate with Editorial, Production, Visual Merch, and Marketing to drive alignment and deliver best-in-class 360 campaign work Monitor team capacity and delegate work strategically based on project needs and individual strengths Champion innovation and collaboration, promoting a culture of curiosity and creative problem solving Support business goals with thoughtful, strategic, and effective creative solutions Requirements
10+ years of experience in creative direction, with a strong background in beauty, fashion, or lifestyle Proven experience leading large-scale 360 campaigns and directing photo/video shoots Strong portfolio demonstrating strategic thinking and compelling design Experienced in people management and cross-functional collaboration Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite; Figma experience a plus Strong communicator with excellent presentation and feedback skills Experience working in a fast-paced, matrixed organization Ability to think on your feet, problem-solve quickly, and adapt with agility in evolving situations Apex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
