JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

- Collaborate with procurement and purchasing teams to optimize material flow and inventory management, ensuring timely availability of materials for production.
- Utilize CAD software to design product builds and develop comprehensive job travelers for production processes.
- Conduct cost analysis studies to identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality or performance.
- Assist in budget preparation and monitoring for manufacturing projects, ensuring financial goals are met while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Lead initiatives to implement new technologies and systems, conducting feasibility studies and ROI analysis to justify investments.
- Design and oversee the manufacturing of all in-house machining fixtures, including CNC/VTL setups, drills, saws, and other specialized equipment.
- Assist in developing in-process check fixtures, providing detailed work instructions and conducting thorough tooling reviews.
- Assess operational risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions in production or supply chain.
- Assist in creating and implementing robust business continuity strategies to maintain operations during unforeseen events or emergencies.
- Drive the development and installation of direct and indirect labor standards through detailed time studies and analysis.
- Develop and implement a labor tracking system to monitor manpower utilization and facilitate line balancing efforts for improved efficiency.
- Analyze process constraints and conduct cycle time analyses to identify areas for improvement.
- Research efficiency enhancements and develop proposals for continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee and implement improved procedures and new equipment installations to enhance manufacturing processes.
- Review proposed changes in plant layout, processes, material handling, and routing, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
- Partner with Sales, Operations, Quality, and Planning departments to resolve issues and ensure alignment on manufacturing goals and timelines.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance (QA) on documentation tasks and support annual ISO audits and internal QA audits.
- Maintain accurate documentation of manufacturing processes, equipment specifications, and operating procedures.
- Train team members as needed in new or improved manufacturing procedures to ensure consistent implementation and adherence.
- Support manufacturing capital project and production planning and execution, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and budget constraints.
- Evaluate safety procedures and proactively reduce safety hazards throughout the facility, promoting a culture of safety awareness and compliance.
- Support new product and process developments, applying expertise to optimize workflows and ensure manufacturability.
- Apply statistical analysis tools to troubleshoot process issues, perform process capability studies, and implement necessary changes to improve product quality and consistency.
- Provide technical support to production teams, troubleshooting process, equipment, or tooling issues to minimize downtime and optimize throughput.
- Support the Quality Assurance (QA) group in reviewing and developing manufacturing methods and quality standards to meet customer requirements.
- Lead by example in adhering to safety protocols and promoting safe work practices among team members to ensure a secure and healthy work environment.
- Lead cross-functional project teams to drive major manufacturing initiatives, coordinating activities across departments and ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Communicate project status, milestones, and challenges to senior management and stakeholders, providing regular updates and recommendations for improvement.
- Execute various tasks, as assigned by your manager, supervisor, or company officer; whether within your standard duties or as requested beyond regular responsibilities.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or related engineering field required.
- 2 - 3+ years of previous mechanical, manufacturing, and/or industrial engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing process environment.
- Knowledge of Epicor is highly recommended.
- Experience with BOMs and MOMs for MRP preferred.
- Proficiency in engineering principles including but not limited to structural mechanics, hydraulics, heat transfer, electricity, ergonomics, and data management.
- Proficiency in software applications including 3D CAD (Pro Engineer Wildfire 2.0 or 4.0, AutoCAD, and Solid Works), Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point, as a minimum.
- Knowledge of designing tube plugs and other flow control products and instruments is preferred.
- Experience with disciplined experimentation and root cause analysis - e.g. DOE, A3, 8D preferred.
- Experience with using Lean tools and other continuous improvement tools: Pull flow, one-piece flow, kaizen, takt time, load leveling, pull systems (kanban), setup reduction, value stream mapping, and visual factory preferred.
- Experience with high pressure equipment design and testing is a must.
- Possess a comprehensive knowledge of current engineering methodologies, standards, innovative approaches, and deep understanding of industry best practices.
- Knowledge of production processes and flow of product.
- Familiarity with standard engineering concepts, practices, and procedures with CNC machines and other manufacturing shop machinery is essential.
- Aptitude and passion for analysis and technical problem solving.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to sit at a desk or stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift, carry, bend, stoop, push, and pull.
- Good visual acuity to process reports and review drawings, designs, or blueprints - cannot be colorblind.
- Moderate physical effort- working frequently with average weights of ten to fifty pounds or continuously with lighter weights. Must be able to lift fifty pounds independently.
- Good eye/hand/foot coordination.
- Ability to work in cold, hot and/or dusty environment, with noisy conditions.
- Must be able to become forklift certified.
