Job Summary and Qualifications


The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.


Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice.Maintains a safe therapeutic environment.Identifiesnursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient. Registered Nurse plans individualized patient care whileutilizingan interdisciplinary approach.Participates in performance improvement activities.Provides care and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospitals mission and vision statement.


When acting inchargenurserole, registered nursesare responsible forday-to-day activities to ensure the delivery of quality patient care in a therapeutic environment.Make staff assignments based on patient need,acuityand the skill of the staff. Serve as role models and clinical resource for the staff.Respond in a timely manner to requests for information or follow-up with physician, staff or patient issues.


What you will do in this role:


  • You will administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, andmonitorvital signs.


  • You will provide respiratory, ventilator management, and monitoring for patients.


  • You will serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.


  • You willmonitor, record, and communicate patient condition asappropriate utilizingcomputerized documentation systems.


  • You will assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of your healthcare team.



What qualifications you will need:


  • Interpersonal skillsto successfully interactwithpatient,guest, physicians, and other employees.


  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.


  • Current Licensure by Tennessee Board of Nursing


  • Current BLS certification.


  • ACLS certification within 6 months of hire


  • NIHSS Stroke Certification within 6 months of hire
