Overview

Air Conditioning Mechanic II — Facilities Management Services, Building Maintenance - Zone 01. Location: Atlanta Campus (Location subject to change). Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. (Shift subject to change).

These are exciting times in the Maintenance and Operations Department. We are growing and seeking a motivated individual to join our team to help pursue excellence.

What You Will Do

• Perform skilled manual work involving the repair and installation of refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating equipment.
• Overhaul and service refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating units by repairing or replacing worn parts.
• Inspect equipment for needed repairs and perform routine maintenance.
• Test refrigeration units for leaks and add refrigerant as needed.
• Monitor valves and gauges to ensure proper operation; adjust valves and pipes as required.
• Change and clean oil and air filters.
• Operate Centrifugal and Reciprocating chillers.
• Assist in installing air conditioning and heating units and related equipment.
• May assist in training lower-level employees.
• Maintain clean work areas and equipment; perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum Requirements: Technical or vocational degree and two years of HVAC experience, or a high school diploma or GED and four years of HVAC experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of procedures, tools, and equipment used in the HVAC trade; practical oral and written communication skills; ability to access confined spaces; ability to work in open areas (rooftops, etc.); ability to climb ladders and scaffolds; ability to operate tools and equipment used in the HVAC trade; ability to read and interpret blueprints; ability to multi-task, pay attention to detail, train and supervise staff, lift approximately 50 pounds, exhibit excellent customer service, and interpret building drawings.
