Responsibilities

  • Perform patient check-in at the time of visit and complete all paperwork to ensure the admitting process is efficient and compliant with clinic and regulatory policies.
  • Answer phone calls and direct them appropriately.
  • Schedule appointments according to office guidelines.
  • Obtain accurate patient and insurance information, collecting copays and deductible amounts as applicable.
  • Copy/scan patient-related materials (e.g., ID, referrals, insurance cards) into the correct location in the electronic medical record.
  • Prepare charts for patient appointments ensuring all necessary information is complete.
  • Conduct all functions associated with patient check-out, including pricing services, collecting patient responsibility payments, and scheduling follow-up appointments.
  • Perform duties involving record filing and retrieval and assist with filing registration documentation in electronic medical records.
  • Confirm next-day appointments and inform patients of needed documentation, including details related to time-of-service payment.
  • Follow up with patients regarding the Missed Appointment Policy and send related communications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Required Education – For staff levels, must be 16 years of age.
  • Required Licensure And Certifications – Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire; proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Language Ability: Read, analyze, and interpret general business materials; write reports and business correspondence; effectively present information and respond to inquiries.
  • Math Ability: Perform basic arithmetic, compute rate, ratio, and percent, and interpret data.
  • Reasoning Ability: Solve practical problems and interpret instructions furnished in various formats.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Internet navigation, database management, desktop publishing, spreadsheets, and presentation packages.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
