Overview
Park Visalia is a premier Assisted Living and Memory Care community in Visalia. We specialize in a wide range of support and guidance for residents through programming for care, activities, socialization, and dining. This is a floater receptionist position with varying scheduled days and shifts.
Responsibilities
- Support the mission, vision, and culture of the organization through positive communication.
- Contribute to community relationships by demonstrating cooperation and professional conduct with residents, families, fellow associates, physicians, pharmacies and other vendors or persons.
- Contribute to team effort by being flexible in work assignments; by furnishing support; by taking initiative; and by understanding how this position affects and complements all other Community positions.
- Able to maintain work pace appropriate to given workload; perform activities on schedule; maintain regular attendance and punctuality within specified tolerance.
- Answer phones, take messages, and transfer calls.
- Greet and receive guests in a professional and friendly manner, with a focus on maintaining the security of the community for memory-impaired residents.
- Maintain a daily resident log and resident emergency information.
- Assist with weekly packet preparation and distribute information as directed.
- Answer emergency responder and fire alarm systems and take appropriate emergency steps.
- Schedule residents’ doctor appointments and activities; coordinate guest room reservations; provide information to bookkeeping for billing.
- Handle deliveries (mail, prescriptions, etc.).

- Respond appropriately to changes in the work setting.
- Perform other related assignments as required.
- Be familiar with Carefield Living Policies & Procedures Manual and Carefield Living Staff Handbook.

- Demonstrate a positive attitude and ability to work well with all people, particularly the elderly.

- Follow all front desk policies concerning tracking of residents.
Qualifications
- At least 6 months of experience as a receptionist; experience in a resident care facility is preferred.
- High school diploma; good work history in a similar position.
- Excellent communication skills; able to read, write, speak and understand English; follow written and oral directions.
- Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Word and Excel; able to type at least 40 words per minute.
- Be familiar with use of telephone, copy machine, fax, and other office equipment.
- May be required to hold valid First Aid Certification.
Schedule and Compensation
- Shifts: Mornings 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. or Evenings 11:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.; floater position; must be available for scheduled shift any day of the week.
- Rate of pay: $17.00 – $17.50 per hour.
