Job Summary
A janitor cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean facility by completing a variety of cleaning tasks. Their duties include mopping and vacuuming floors, cleaning surfaces with disinfectant and emptying trash cans or recycling bins.
Responsibilities
A janitor oversees keeping the workplace clean, organized and disinfected. The following responsibilities include:
- Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
- Performs work assignments in a team with other employees.
- Follow the scheduled audit cleaning checklist to ensure all areas are cleaned and maintained according to standards established by the facility.
- Take direction and respond to supervision.
- Talk with manager, peers, and customers in a professional manner.
- Use proper personal protective equipment.
- Understand customer service and satisfaction.
- Clean the interior of buildings including floors, carpets, rugs, windows, walls, and restrooms.
- Disinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, office tools, and phones.
- Maintain cleaning inventory and placing orders for new products when needed.
- Remove debris from sidewalks.
- Empty trash and recycling bins.
Qualifications
- Must be energetic, pleasant, and professional.
- Strong communication skills.
- Recognize and understand safety requirements and meet company handbook expectations.
- Ability to change tasks or assignments outside normal duties.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow checklist and schedules.
This is a part-time position and is located in Lacy, WA.
