1st shift role 8:00am-4:30pm (Flexible)
Must Have:
- 2+ years of experience, preferably with environmental waste
- Knowledge of RCRA, Waste profiling, characterizing, scheduling, manifesting, DOT, labeling, recycling, shipping
- No waste background required, but it is beneficial
- Recent environmental degree graduates are ideal

We are seeking an Environmental Coordinator for a large automotive manufacturing facility in Kentucky.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Coordinator will manage onsite activities related to the storage, transportation, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes, following federal, state, and local regulations. The Coordinator will serve as a liaison between the client and vendors regarding service issues and maintain pre-established standards for safety and environmental compliance.
TYPICAL DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and supervisors regarding changes or discrepancies in contract requirements
- Coordinate client “in-plant” waste management systems
- Coordinate scheduling and pickup of waste for third-party disposal
- Evaluate waste streams for recycling/pollution prevention programs
- Collect and transport recyclables and hazardous waste
- Support cost savings and waste reduction initiatives
- Operate onsite baler and forklift to assist with recycling segregation
- Organize and collect shipping paperwork
- Document and inform management of contamination in the plant’s recycling
- Enter data into the Waste Compliance System (WCS) monthly
- Other duties as assigned
- Manage all waste streams, including general plant trash, mixed debris, routine, and episodic hazardous, non-hazardous, and universal wastes
- Coordinate, monitor, and inspect Waste Collection Areas
- Coordinate with customer Environmental Staff regarding facility priorities and initiatives
- Evaluate customer processes to determine waste reduction/elimination opportunities
- Conduct training on best waste management practices and regulatory guidelines
- Prepare regulatory or customer-specified waste shipment documentation
- Conduct inspections to verify compliance with RCRA regulations and submit monthly reports
- Collect containers used to collect hazardous wastes
- Deliver spill clean-up materials and aid in the collection of waste generated by spills
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preferred: 40-hour OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training
- Preferred: Department of Transportation (DOT) Hazardous Material regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
