About the Role

The Company is in search of a Vice President for Accounting Policy Services to join their Corporate Finance Team. This role also involves staying abreast of and working on the implementation of new or proposed accounting standards from the FASB and/or SEC. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in financial accounting for financial services, with a focus on the property/casualty insurance industry, and possess excellent communication, analytical, and multitasking skills. Key responsibilities include partnering with executive and senior management to ensure the integrity of financial statements, developing and maintaining corporate accounting policies, and managing relationships with external auditors. Applicants for the Vice President position at the company should have a BA in accounting, a CPA certification, and a minimum of 8 years' of US GAAP accounting experience in a similar role. The role requires a candidate with a proven track record of effective interactions at all organizational levels, strong knowledge of financial accounting for financial services, and the ability to meet deadlines both independently and as part of a team. Experience in public accounting, public company, and US Statutory and/or IFRS accounting is a plus. The role demands a professional who can manage and develop accounting policy and finance staff, ensure the alignment of accounting policies in M&A transactions, and provide expertise in accounting guidance for significant, new, or unusual transactions. The candidate should be adept at using the Microsoft Office Suite and be prepared for a hybrid work environment with a mix of in-office and remote work.
