The department includes 3 pre-op areas and 3 PACU areas, serving outpatient and inpatient surgeries. Staff should be teamwork oriented with strong critical thinking, organizational, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the non-clinical aspects of patient care by managing communication and clerical tasks essential to the functioning of the unit.
• Perform unit clerical functions and act as receptionist; act as an intradepartmental and interdepartmental liaison.
• Order and stock office supplies; coordinate repair of office and unit equipment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Specialized Unit Secretary/Health Unit Coordinator training preferred.
• 1 year of clerical or customer service experience preferred.
