American Welding & Gas has an immediate opening for a Service Technician & Backup Delivery Driver at our facility in Appleton, WI!

Responsibilities

• Service Technician duties: mechanical background with some electrical wiring background would be helpful; ensure preparation and completion and accuracy of paperwork including delivery tickets; work at heights of 20 to 30 feet; capable of performing duties alone at times; current driver’s license required to drive company equipment to the job site.
• Driver duties: read, understand and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); comply with all DOT and OSHA regulations; move, load, and unload empty/full cylinders safely and efficiently; ensure preparation and/or completion and accuracy of paperwork including shipping papers and delivery tickets; maintain cleanliness of vehicle; perform other duties as assigned.
• Driver requirements: lifting, bending, twisting, climbing, crouching, kneeling; repetitive movement; operating motorized equipment; sitting/standing/walking; indoor/outdoor work as needed; perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Safety oriented and mechanically inclined; clean driving record.
• Class B CDL required with Hazmat and Tanker endorsement or ability to obtain both endorsements.
• Able to move compressed gas and liquid cylinders; lift 50-75 pounds frequently and maneuver 100+ pound cylinders.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, back assessment and company-administered road test; excellent communicator who is consistent in words and actions; ability to work independently; strong customer relation skills; pleasant, professional, and courteous personality; goal oriented and self-motivated; GED/Diploma; industrial painting experience is a plus.
