Machine Operator

Polaris Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator to work at our Monticello, MN location. This role is employed by Kelly Staffing Services Temp Agency and may be eligible for full-time conversion to Polaris after 90+ days.

Location: Monticello, MN
Schedule:

• 1st Shift: Monday - Thursday 6AM - 4:30PM
• 2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday 4:30PM - 3:00AM

Summary: The Machine Operator is responsible for the set-up and operation of CNC machines and tooling in the assigned cell or production area. This individual must be dedicated to the success of Polaris and its quest to continually improve its operations.

Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC equipment and maintain quality and safety standards.
• Load parts into machine and verify settings.
• Maintain production rate and make suggestions for process improvements.
• Change cutting tools and adjust machine feeds and speeds as needed.
• Use various measuring tools and verify fixture setup.
• Make high-quality parts to specifications and assist with quality problem identification.
• Document and communicate machine operations and maintenance.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and follow safety procedures.

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and material reject review (MRR) procedures.
• Understanding of 5S and lean concepts.
• Knowledge of CNC Equipment capabilities and daily maintenance.
• Basic level math skills and ability to use a calculator.

Experience & Skills:

• Experience with reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications.
• Experience using hand tools and measuring equipment.
• Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships.
• Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.

Education:

• Two-year machine technology degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Working Conditions:

• Constant exposure to indoor manufacturing environment and loud noise.
• Constant use of hands/fingers to grasp and manipulate parts and tools.
• Required to wear PPE and stand and walk throughout the workday.
