We are a dynamic, forward-thinking, and fast-growing company seeking a Senior Project Manager (Indianapolis, IN) to join our team.

Job Summary

As a Senior Project Manager (SPM), you will be responsible for the management and delivery of commercial construction projects. We are looking for a highly motivated design/build SPM who is passionate about the construction process to join our McFarland team. You will manage multiple projects and be the point person for the overall project lead.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages multiple construction projects within the organization’s portfolio for new and existing construction projects
  • Works with key stakeholders and other functional business units to deliver on a diverse portfolio of project types with the ability to conduct construction meetings and presentations
  • Assists with project planning and chartering, including responsibility for preliminary budget and schedule information
  • Provides support to secure project entitlements, permits and other required approvals with knowledge of regulatory and code requirements for construction management
  • Prepares scope, bid documentation and evaluations to support contracting of external vendors and consultants on a variety of projects with ability to read construction drawings and specifications
  • Design/build experience with general contractors
  • Plan and implement large to mid-size construction projects
  • Direct and lead the work of project superintendents
  • Evaluate new construction strategies and procedures
  • Ensure deadlines and cost targets are met
  • Maintain required project documentation
  • Serve as a liaison between business and field construction aspects of projects
  • Direct and control the work of others
  • Review and approve project expenditures and subcontractors pay requests monthly
  • Be willing and able to travel if the designated project requires
  • Attend on-site project status meetings, establish meeting agendas, and work with all team members to problem solve
  • Ensure project teams are updating schedules weekly and hold subcontractors accountable to the schedule
  • Ensure work is performed on sites in accordance with OSHA and Lifetime Construction standards

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in Commercial and Construction Management
  • 3+ years of Leadership Experience
  • Procore Certified
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams
  • Strong analysis and critical thinking skills
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Project; Experience with Procore a plus
