The Field Service Engineer is a remote field-based position with daily travel locations within the assigned territory (Indianapolis, Indiana). Ideal candidates will reside within a 30-mile radius of where the position is based. A company vehicle is provided. 5% overnight travel is possible and a valid driver’s license is required.

Home-based PART-TIME position with daily travel to customer sites in the Indianapolis, Indiana territory.

Accountabilities

  • Provide remote and on-site technical support for BD Pyxis automated dispensing systems located within hospitals and other healthcare facilities within the territory and in accordance with customer support agreements, excluding DHA/DoD facilities.
  • Respond to, evaluate, and prioritize work orders; diagnose, service, and resolve issues regarding proprietary hardware and software system components; maintain ownership of the work order; escalate to the team lead and manager as needed; log and document all work order activity; support all products within the region.
  • Execute a preventive maintenance program; provide limited cross-functional support for Sales and Implementation teams and other applicable activities.
  • Demonstrate competence and the ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
  • Provide efficient field services to all BD customers in a timely manner, including installations, in-servicing, repair, preventive maintenance, calibration, and sales support.
  • Maintain proper and accurate small parts inventory for service and follow approved inventory control policies and procedures.
  • Provide accurate and timely documentation detailing field activity, expenses, time distribution, and other required information.
  • Continue training and self-development to learn the products and applications; attend management-approved seminars and training sessions to progress to the next level in 2-3 years.

Qualifications Required

  • High School diploma plus 3 years of related field service experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of combination Hardware/Software/IT experience supporting both proprietary and standard applications
  • 24x7 on-call experience in a customer-facing/field service environment
  • Good mechanical, computer, verbal, written, and time management skills
  • Computer electronics, Windows OS, network experience
  • Ability to work within defined processes and methodologies with minimal supervision
  • Valid driver’s license and meet company auto safety standards

Preferred

  • Associate Degree in Healthcare Technology or other technical field
  • Prior experience in a hospital pharmacy technician role or hospital Bio-Med environment
  • Prior military Bio-Med experience
  • Prior Automated Teller Machine (ATM) experience
  • Immunizations as required to access customer sites (Hepatitis B, Influenza, MMR, Varicella, TB/PPD, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis, COVID-19)
  • Weight lifting requirement: minimum 70 pounds

Salary Range Information: $23.80 - $36.80 USD Hourly
