Overview

Dental Front Desk Assistant opportunity at Heartland Dental (New Port Richey, FL). Little Road Dental Care is looking for a Front Desk Business Assistant to join the team. Work schedule: Monday 7:30am-5:00pm and alternating Fridays 8am-12pm. No weekends. End times may vary depending upon patient flow.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome patients as they enter the office to create a positive first impression
  • Manage front office duties: answer phones, check office mail and email, communicate with patients and insurance companies
  • Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and records
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers
  • File patient insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims, verify benefits and explain coverage
  • Post insurance and patient payments and process accounts receivable
  • Review treatment plan fees and payment options with patients
  • Collaborate with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems to optimize office potential

Little Road Dental Care is a Heartland Dental supported office. Join a collaborative team focused on community and patient care.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment; excellent communication and organizational skills
  • HIPAA training and protection of PHI as required; ability to protect data safeguards
  • Access to minimum PHI necessary for job duties

Preferred Experience

  • 1+ year dental or medical setting experience
  • 1+ year of insurance billing and accounts receivable
  • Experience with Dentrix or other dental software

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
  • Occasional virtual or in-person training sessions
  • TB test required for all new dental office hires; arranged during pre-employment process; not applicable in FL & TN
