Overview
The Rental Delivery Driver I (RDDI) has a CDL-A license and operates medium to heavy-duty pickup trucks with delivery trailers. This driver delivers rental equipment to customers and provides basic operational training on the equipment. The RDDI verifies equipment is clean and operational prior to and after each delivery and demonstrates high-quality customer service standards for delivery service. The base pay range is $35.00/hr - $40.00/hr.
Key Responsibilities
- Administrative/Business Duties (10%): Utilizes company technology to document work, obtains required signatures on rental contracts, stays current on licensing and safety requirements, maintains professionalism in appearance and conduct, and performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
- Deploy Equipment to Store Locations (20%): Assists with deployment of new equipment, performs product data inspections (PDIs), delivers to stores, trains store associates on operation, and completes check-in/check-out procedures.
- Maintain Parts Inventory (10%): Maintains accurate parts and fleet inventories through documentation and transfers in appropriate systems.
- Operate Assigned Truck and Make Deliveries (60%): Operates a semi tractor-trailer with a 53’ flatbed trailer and class 7 straight truck to deliver equipment to customers. Loads/unloads, properly secures equipment, performs local deliveries and pickups, and demonstrates safe operation to customers at delivery.

Travel Requirements
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements
- Intermittent periods of physical exertion including walking, standing, stooping, climbing, and lifting heavy or awkward materials or equipment.
Working Conditions
- Typically in a comfortable environment but exposed to temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes that may cause discomfort or moderate risk of incident.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
- Must be twenty-one years of age or older.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A).
- Valid DOT Medical Card.
- 1 year of commercial motor vehicle driving experience within the previous 5 years.
- Safe driving record – clean MVR.
- Knowledge/experience driving delivery trucks, towing tandem-axle trailers, and towable construction equipment; ability to operate safely in high-traffic or congested city zones and in small areas.
- Knowledge of local major/minor roadways and ability to use maps/directions for efficient routing.
- Understanding of safe load securement and transport.
- Knowledge of Motor Carrier Safety regulations/DOT guidelines.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work with different personality types and all levels of associates.
- Working knowledge of handheld technology (smartphone, laptop, tablet).
- Ability to operate in extreme outdoor conditions and adapt to unforeseen circumstances (weather, traffic, etc.).
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints and exceed customer expectations.

- Ability to work independently and define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
